I noted the quite muted laugh when I said I only write to you when I’m bored, you were right it wasn’t that funny, I’m sorry, please call off the hitmen.
Sorry matey, once El Presidente has ordered The Boys to do a job they don’t stop until their blades have tasted blood – I’d run if I were you!!
Fair enough, I’ll miss my brother though.
Have a fab con!
Thank you. We certainly did, too! No doubt we’ll talk a little bit about it in the next podcast, due to record tomorrow (Monday 9th March) and publish on the following Sunday (all being well, of course).
It made me want to do more of these conventions. It’s certainly more about meeting the other fans than the ‘stars’, their panels and autographs.Though the famous people give a nice backdrop! (Having said that, I have to say that Tom Baker’s remarkable hour long stand up routine was worth it alone!)
Did anyone record Tom’s standup?
Great podcast as usual – I’ve sent in my usual psychotic missive for the next one.
Toodles
Wyn
PS Were El Presidente’s “Boys” recruited from the Gurkhas? They have a similar modus operandi
Wyn, with reference to your comments about the rugby,it pains me to say that some of the England team were acting like petulant brats.I only saw highlights of the Wales-England match but as for the Ireland-England match,I thought they were at Wimbledon! The amount of kicking back and forth that was going on.Fake Crumbly and myself are off down to Bath to see Bath v Wasps and to see Danny Cipriani get turned into a bloody smear on the grass, hopefully lol.
The ping-pong is sadly, as you know, a result of the ELV’s. It only suits teams with superb kickers, ie, the southern hemisphere.
Have a good time at the game. As an outsider, I just have doubts about Johnson’s ability to manage a team – he had no experience before being given the job, and whilst he was a superb leader of men on the field, that doesn’t necessarily translate to the pitch.
I don’t know if the one-off rules allow the same actress playing different characters but I expected someone to mention Chantho from Utopia as a positive example. I know the actress was also Donna’s fortune teller in Turn Left but thought the Chantho character was brilliant. As you mentioned all of the good examples would, she would make a wonderful companion for the Doctor as well.
