  1. Nathan B says:

The people on the Tube are starting to think I’m a bit odd because I sit there every other Monday giggling to myself – and it’s all your fault!
Thanks for reviewing some Stargate – and ever more thanks for reviewing Sanctuary. I have a bit of a thing for Amanda Tapping so the podcast title got me very excited!
Loved the speeded up bit – I’m going to be really sad and slow it down!
30-second recommendations are a good idea – lets have more.
Oh, and happy birthday to Real Keith!

  2. again.. sorry that ive not left feedback. Im going for the 5th total system reinstall on my Linux laptop. (I would install XP if I had the nerve). I just cant get it to load audacity and…. blah blah blah….

anyway. if it works ill put a plug for staggering into the next TDP. (Recorded 20 mins yesterday which, when i checked, didnt record at all… grrr)

    Great show as always.

maybe a 30 second recomendation would be a good idea for mp3 feedback.

    be seeing you.

  3. new TDP uploaded now .. WITH added Staggering!

  4. Hi chaps!

Well, Nathan, we all know that in every tube compartment there is at least one person who looks more than a little bit mad. Glad to help up that quota for your fellow travelers!

We’ve been meaning to look at Stargate for ages. In fact we had a little screening of Continuum some time ago especially for the podcast. It was a few podcasts later before we finally got around to it, though! Sanctuary, somehow, managed to avoid that delay. It is looking like a good series (though perhaps not a great series at this stage but still good). Being on ITV4 it’s something we can all watch, unlike, say, Fringe on Sky1 (I don’t have Sky1 – rather not give money to Howlin’ Mad Murdoch if I can help it!)

Did you ever get around to reducing the speed on that section? I don’t think it was overly amazing, just Keith telling us what we already knew and failing to explain why the characters were aware that their missing comrades had disappeared from the time line!

Yes, there should be another 30 second review next time. No idea who’s doing it or what their subject will be. Almost certainly not me this time (though, if it were, I might suggest Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles or, going back a bit, Star Cops).

Tin Dog Bloke – thanks for the bumper thing in your latest podcast! Sorry to hear you are having Linux problems. We record on Linux (using Ardour) and edit with Audacity (under Linux when I do it or Windows when ‘Fake Keith’ does it). I use Ubuntu Studio for the recording machine and Fedora (7 or 8, depending on which machine) for my editing (and no, I don’t edit on the recording machine – that’s in the living room rather than the computer room – it’s complicated!). Both Ubuntu Studio and Fedora have Audacity in their repositories. Can’t speak for other distributions, though.

Enough of technology, though! Yes, I like the idea of 30 second recommendations as feedback. I’ll steal that and call it my own (once I’ve hacked into this blog to remove all trace of its real origins!!) Bwa ha ha!

    Thank you both!
Now time for my Sunday dinner!
